TomExpensive

TomExpensive removes the vanilla "Too Expensive!" anvil limit while keeping the real XP cost visible and charged in Survival mode.

Features

  • Shows true anvil costs above 40 levels in Survival, such as 120 levels.
  • Keeps expensive anvil results clickable through ProtocolLib.
  • Supports colored anvil renames with MiniMessage, legacy & colors, and hex colors.
  • Allows free anvil use with the tomexpensive.free permission.
  • Includes /repair for repairing the item in your hand.
  • Checks Modrinth for newer versions without warning for older releases.

Rename Colors

Use any of these formats in the anvil rename field:

Commands

Command Description Permission
/repair Repairs the item in your main hand. tomexpensive.repair

Permissions

  • tomexpensive.repair: Allows using /repair. Default: OP.
  • tomexpensive.free: Makes anvil use cost 0 levels. Default: false.

  • Java 21+

Installation

  1. Download the latest TomExpensive jar.
  2. Install ProtocolLib on your server.
  3. Drop TomExpensive into your server's plugins folder.
  4. Restart the server.
