Enhance your survival Minecraft server with new QOL and fun mechanics that you won't be able to play without.
This plugin adds in a number of miscellaneous mechanics into Minecraft intended to enhance the survival experience.
A number of items can now be thrown with various effects.
| Item | Effect |
|---|---|
| Torches | Throw them to place them on walls at a distance. Torches will also briefly set entities on fire if hit. |
| End Rods | Will also land on walls but can also land on ceilings. Applies glowing effect to entities if hit. |
| Snowball | Applies freezing effect |
| Slime Ball, Clay Ball | Applies mining fatigue and slowness |
| Magma Cream | Applies mining fatigue, slowness, and sets on fire |
| Ink Sac | Applies blindness |
| Glow Ink Sac | Applies glowing effect |
| Fire Charge | Shoots a small fireball when thrown |
| Cobweb | Is placed down wherever projectile lands. If an entity is hit, it will be placed at their feet. |
Right-clicking on fully grown crops with a hoe automatically harvests and replants the crop. Works with enchantments like Fortune and Unbreaking.
Some blocks now can be landed on to take reduced fall damage:
When a hostile mob has the blindness effect, it will be unable to target you. For example, if you throw an ink sac at a zombie that is chasing you, it will stop following you.
Dropping tools/armor into the result slot of a crafting table will break it down, returning some of the primary resource.
Shift + Right-Clicking an empty boat or minecart will automatically pick it up.
Having any amount of gold armor trim will protect you from being aggro'd by piglins.
Right-clicking an armorable mob with a carved pumpkin will put it on it's head, having the same effect as blindness.
Empty buckets will slowly fill in the rain when held.
One of the main feedback items this plugin got on SpigotMC was the request for settings, i.e. the ability to toggle on/off different features. I intend to implement this and keep this resource free.
I started this plugin back in 2020 with the intent to only use it for myself or on small servers with friends. From my own experience and the feedback I got from friends, these features were so useful and in many cases just common-sense that it was very hard to go back to playing Minecraft without them. I recently started playing a realm without any addons, and not being able to throw torches is excruciating.
I published this plugin to SpigotMC.org in 2024 under the name "RPG Mechanics". This was named after my own server, not necessarily a Role Playing Game, so after a personal rebrand it is now PJ's Mechanics. You can find previous reviews for this plugin there.
