📖About No Double Blast Protection

Double Blast Prot Remover

Ever since the change in 1.21 that allowed Blast Protection to stack its knockback reduction, players have been dealing with a mechanic that never felt quite right. Even though Mojang rolled back most of the controversial enchantment tweaks, the stacking knockback reduction stayed and that single leftover change created a surprisingly big problem.

In the current system, each Blast Protection piece cuts your explosion knockback by a huge amount. With only two pieces equipped, you already reach 0 explosion knockback. That means creepers, TNT, and end crystals can go off right next to you, and you’ll barely move an inch. It breaks pacing, makes combat feel strange, and removes the natural “push away” that explosions are supposed to provide.

This plugin exists because many players especially in PvP specifically crystal combat find this mechanic unintuitive and frustrating. No knockback sounds good on paper, but in reality it traps you closer to the blast source, removes skill-based movement, and makes repeated damage feel clunky and inconsistent. The loss of explosion momentum changes how fights play out and feels like an unintentional side effect rather than a meaningful feature.

The vanilla patch notes hinted that more balancing for these enchantments may happen in the future. Until then, this plugin brings back the gameplay feel that players were used to before the stacking change: explosions actually launch you again, no matter how many Blast Protection pieces you wear. It keeps combat dynamic, movement reactive, and explosions impactful just how Minecraft handled it for years.
