LinkedFate

A Sympathy Thread item binds two targets so harm carries between them. Hurt one linked
creature and its partner takes the same damage. Break one linked block and its twin breaks
too. A dust thread marks every bond.

How it works

1. Get a Sympathy Thread with /sympathy give [player]. It is a named, tagged string item.
2. Right-click a creature, then right-click a second creature to bind their fates.
3. Sneak and right-click a block, then a second block, to bind two blocks instead.

While linked:

• Damage to one linked entity is copied onto its partner. The copied damage is raw and
  ignores the partner's armour and resistances, so a protected target can be brought down
  through a weaker bound one.
• Breaking a linked block breaks its partner too. Drops are handled once, and the link dissolves.
• A redstone dust line connects each bound pair every few ticks.

Links dissolve when either entity dies or a linked block is removed. Forming a link uses one
thread, except in creative mode. Links persist across restarts.

Binding targets with a thread needs sympathy.use, granted to everyone by default.
Aliases: /sym, /fate.

Configuration

config.yml has max-links (the combined entity and block pair cap, 0 for unlimited),
particles-enabled, and particle-interval-ticks. Run /sympathy reload after editing.

Compatibility

Built for Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, and Purpur 1.21.1 through 1.21.11 on Java 21. Bukkit API
only. Not Folia safe.
