📖About HeadBound - CuriosPaper

HeadBound

HeadBound is an addon for CuriosPaper that adds a set of unique, configurable head accessories to the Curios-style head slot.
Each item grants a small, focused passive ability that fits naturally into vanilla gameplay: better mining, safer exploring, utility vision, and more.

📦 Requires: Paper 1.21+ and CuriosPaper (hard dependency)

Temp link for CuriosPaper: CuriosPaper

Features

  • ⚔ 11+ custom head accessories, each with its own effect

  • 🎯 Passive, conditional bonuses (Y-level checks, structure-based loot, mob drops, etc.)

  • ⚙ Fully configurable enable/disable for each item

  • 📥 Multiple acquisition paths:

    • Mob drops (Endermen, Drowned, Strays)
    • Structure loot (mineshafts, temples, ruins, fortresses)
    • Villager trades (wandering traders, master librarians)
  • 🔧 Simple config values for:

    • Ranges, durations, multipliers, and chances
    • Drop/loot/trade chances (0.0–1.0)
    • Global debug & cosmetic toggles (particles, sounds)
  • ✅ Built cleanly on CuriosPaper’s head slot, no custom commands needed for normal use

Included Head Items (Default)

Each of these is a head accessory meant for the CuriosPaper head slot:

  • Scout’s Lens

    • Periodically reveals nearby mobs with a glowing outline in a small radius.
    • Configurable detection range, glow duration, and check interval.
  • Miner’s Charmband

    • Grants automatic Night Vision below a configurable Y-level.
    • Perfect for caving without torches while keeping surface play unaffected.
  • Third Eye Circlet

    • An upgraded detection headpiece with a slightly higher range and longer glow.
    • Tunable radius, duration, and tick interval separately from Scout’s Lens.
  • Drowned Crown Shard

    • Boosts swim speed and reduces drowning damage taken.
    • Intended for underwater exploration and ocean monuments.
  • Blazing Mask

    • Reduces incoming fire damage by a configurable percentage.
    • Useful in the Nether, lava builds, and blaze farms.
  • Serpent Hood

    • Applies configurable poison to enemies (duration & amplifier set in config).
    • Offensive utility for players who like damage-over-time playstyles.
  • Wanderer’s Hood

    • Makes wandering traders hang around longer.
    • Controlled by a trader stay-time multiplier.
  • Stormcaller Cap

    • Buffs loyalty trident return speed by a configurable multiplier.
    • Thematic choice for trident-focused players.
  • Frostbound Circlet

    • Reduces freeze buildup/effect from powdered snow.
    • Good for snowy biomes and mountain traversal.
  • Ghastbone Mask

    • Reduces knockback taken from explosions.
    • Helps with blast-heavy fights and risky building.
  • Scholar’s Laurel

    • Grants a flat bonus to gained XP.
    • Configurable experience multiplier.

How to Obtain the Items

All drop/loot/trade chances are configurable.

Mob Drops

Some items can drop from specific mobs:

  • Third Eye Circlet – Endermen
  • Drowned Crown Shard – Drowned
  • Frostbound Circlet – Strays

Each has its own drop chance under drops: in config.yml.

Structure Loot

Some items are found in vanilla structures:

  • Miner’s Charmband – Mineshafts
  • Serpent Hood – Jungle temples
  • Stormcaller Cap – Ocean ruins
  • Ghastbone Mask – Nether fortresses

These are controlled under loot: with per-item structure type and chance.

Villager Trades

Two items are obtained via villager trading:

  • Wanderer’s Hood

    • Offered by wandering traders
    • Configurable emerald cost and chance to appear
  • Scholar’s Laurel

    • Offered by librarians at MASTER level
    • Configurable emerald cost and chance to appear

Configuration

The plugin ships with a config.yml that controls:

  • Per-item enable/disable

    items:
      scouts-lens:
        enabled: true
      miners-charmband:
        enabled: true
      # ...

  • Effect parameters

    • Detection ranges, durations, tick intervals
    • Damage reduction percentages
    • Multipliers (XP, swim speed, drowning, trader duration, loyalty speed, etc.)
  • Mob drops & structure loot

      third-eye-circlet:
        mob: ENDERMAN
        chance: 0.05

    loot:
      miners-charmband:
        structure: MINESHAFT
        chance: 0.15

  • Villager trades

    trades:
      wanderer-hood:
        villager-type: WANDERING_TRADER
        emerald-cost: 1
        chance: 0.30
