Aliases
How It Works
For New Players
- Player attempts to connect to the server
- If not linked, they are kicked with a unique code displayed
- Player joins your Discord server
- Player uses
/link code:XXXXXX on Discord
- Account is linked and player can now join the server
- Configured roles are automatically assigned
For Linked Players
- Player connects to the server normally
- "Online" role is automatically added on Discord
- "Online" role is removed when player disconnects
- Player keeps their "Linked" role permanently
Role System
- Linked Role: Given when account is successfully linked (permanent)
- Online Role: Given when player is connected to the server (temporary)
- Automatic management: All roles are handled automatically by the bot
Configuration
The plugin is fully configurable through config.yml:

Prerequisites
Discord Bot Setup
- Create a bot on Discord Developer Portal
- Enable these Privileged Gateway Intents:
- Server Members Intent
- Message Content Intent
- Invite the bot to your Discord server with these permissions:
- Manage Roles
- Send Messages
- Embed Links
- Copy your bot token
Plugin Installation
- Download DiscordLink and place it in your
plugins/ folder
- Start your server to generate the config file
- Stop your server and edit
plugins/DiscordLink/config.yml
- Fill in your Discord bot token, guild ID, role IDs, and channel ID
- Configure your desired settings
- Start your server
Getting IDs
- Guild ID: Enable Developer Mode in Discord, right-click your server → Copy Server ID
- Role IDs: Right-click a role → Copy Role ID
- Channel ID: Right-click a channel → Copy Channel ID
Database
DiscordLink uses SQLite for data storage:
- No external database server required
- Automatic database creation and management
- Stores player UUIDs, usernames, Discord IDs, and link timestamps
- File location:
