AuraBeacons

A minimal and elegant Minecraft plugin that allows you to configure beacons using splash potions.

Make your beacons unique and magical. AuraBeacons lets you throw splash potions directly onto a beacon to alter its aura. Once applied, the beacon will continuously grant the potion's effect to all players within its range, just like a standard beacon.

The magical aura persists reliably across server restarts. If you want to clear the effect, simply break the beacon block.

Installation

Ensure your server is running Java 21 and Purpur 1.21.1 (supported up to version 26.1.2) before installing this plugin.

1. Compile the plugin using Maven:

   mvn clean package
   

2. Copy the AuraBeacons-3.0.jar file from the target folder into your server's plugins directory.
3. Restart your server.

Usage

1. Build a full beacon pyramid using iron, gold, diamond, emerald, or netherite blocks.
2. Place the beacon on top of the pyramid.
3. Brew a splash potion with your desired effect.
4. Throw the splash potion directly at the beacon (or within a 3-block radius).
5. The beacon will now project the potion's effect to all players in range.

You must use splash potions. Drinkable or lingering potions will not apply the magical aura to the beacon.

Supported Pyramid Levels

• Level 1 (3x3): 20 blocks range
• Level 2 (5x5): 30 blocks range
• Level 3 (7x7): 40 blocks range
• Level 4 (9x9): 50 blocks range

Technical Details

• Effects are processed and applied every second for a smooth experience.
• Data is stored locally in plugins/AuraBeacons/beacons.yml.
• Full support for all standard Minecraft potion effects.
