Vanilla Tweaks golden crown as a separate item, so that it A: Its not a replacement of the vanilla golden helmet, and B: Everyone can see it, not just people with a resource pack.
A very simple MCreator mod that adds a golden crown item (textures from Vanilla Tweaks) that goes into the helmet slot. Other than that, it behaves (hopefully) identically to the vanilla gold helmet.
