📖About Undead Unleashed

 Title logo
Undead Unleashed is a mod aiming to expand upon undead creatures and not only undead ones, adding a darker vibe to Minecraft while keeping the vanilla feel, or at least trying to...

Currently supported MC versions: 1.20.1

Requires:
Geckolib

Works with:
Better Combat

Content:

Creatures
  • Haunter

Your classic spooky ghost, you won't notice it coming, only reveals itself when close, it emerges from the ground ready to attack. Can also appear in the Nether, most commonly in Soul Sand Valleys. When exposed to sunlight, it disappears.

Haunter

  • Dreadknight

A sword and board enthusiast clad in Grave Iron. They roam the Overworld at nighttime and underground. Very tough opponents, especially for unprepared adventurers. When attacked they will use their shield to negate incoming attacks and then follow up with a counter easily overwhelming their foes. Despite being undead sunlight doesn't harm them thanks to their helmets.

Dreadknight

  • Shadewraith

A skeletal flying spirit covered in shadow. Isn't particularly tough but is very mobile and usually roams in groups at nighttime. Can also inflict darkness on its victims. Like most undead, burns in the light of day.

Shadewraith

  • Flamebreather

One of the vilest and most imposing residents of the Nether Wastes and the Nether in general. As the name suggests, it breathes fire. Also be cautious when it starts flying upwards, it means you are about to be divebombed, so run away from that! This creature is obviously immune to fire and lava.

Other

Items and materials:

  • Grave Iron - a metal acquired by gravedigging and gathered from slain Dreadknights. Also appears naturally in ores in Nether's Soul Sand Valleys. It's a material used to craft a new set of armor with a special defensive bonus and some SpOoKy weapons!
  • Soul Piece - drops from Haunters, is used to craft soul version of sand as well as soil and Bottles O'Experience. Currently doesn't have many uses but will be expanded upon in the future.
  • Reaping Scythe - one of the weapons craftable from Grave Iron, has decent damage but is slightly slower than a sword. It's main feature is being able to collect Soul Pieces from slain mobs.
  • Tombdigger Shovel - another Grave Iron tool... and weapon. You can use it as a very efficient shovel but when used in combat it can smash you foes into the ground giving them the new Entombed effect which immobilizes and deals damage to the target.
  • Demon Horn - taken from Flamebreathers, it's current only use is to brew Potions of Flamebreathing.
  • Shadecloth - looted from Shadewraiths, used to make a two-piece armor set with a special dash ability! Not very durable but very useful for travering difficult terrain and combat mobility.
  • Moonlight Greatsword - a weapon mainly recognized by fans of Dark Souls and other FromSoftware titles! Currently isn't obtainable in in survival but is functional and can be played around with.

stuff

Worldgen:

  • Gravesite Ruin - a small landmark you can find almost in every grassy area of the Overworld. Contains Grave Soil - a peculiar block that offers loot when broken, but with more plentiful rewards if done so at night, but during that time you risk awakening those, who reside within!

Questions and answers

Q:Port to x.xx.x version?
A:When the time is right... Currently 1.20.1 was the most requested and seems stable for modpacks.

Q:Different mod loaders?
A:New builds for versions 1.20.6+ will be moved to NeoForge instead of Forge. A Fabric port is likely but not a priority for now.

Q:Can I use it in a modpack?
A:Sure, as long as it's hosted either on Modrinth or Curseforge.

Q:Why did you remove some content?
A:Because it lacked the quality I'm looking for. I am trying to provide quality above all else first, even tho it might be difficult sometimes.

Q:Can I repost this mod?
A:Not without my permission. If I allow the mod distribution to a separate website, the download option MUST be linked to here, the official mod page on Curseforge or Modrinth.

Known bugs (read before complaining!)

In some rare cases mobs can display animations incorrectly - either delayed or not played at all. I'm looking for a solution.

Notes

Don't download this mod from sites outside Curseforge, Modrinth or MCreator websites. If 3rd party websites have an option to download the files on their own. These are not approved by me and I don't take responsibility for any issues with these files.
