📖About Teleport Doors

🚪 TeleportDoors

TeleportDoors is a Fabric-based Minecraft mod that adds special doors capable of teleporting players between two linked locations.

Doors are automatically paired using a combination of wood type and color, making teleportation intuitive, immersive, and fully persistent — without commands or manual configuration.

Perfect for builders, adventure maps, and survival worlds that need a clean, vanilla-friendly teleport solution.

✨ Features

  • 🚪 Teleporting Doors
Walk through one door and instantly appear at its linked counterpart.

  • 🌳 Wood Type Based Linking
Each door is tied to a specific wood type (oak, spruce, birch, etc.).

  • 🎨 Color-Coded Door Pairs
Colors define unique teleport pairs within the same wood type.

  • 🔗 Automatic Door Pairing
Exactly one door pair can exist per wood-type + color combination.

  • 💾 Persistent Door Registry
Door links survive world reloads, restarts, and chunk unloads.

  • 🧱 Vanilla-Like Behavior
Correct blockstates, hitboxes, opening, and closing behavior.

  • ⚙️ Fabric-Based & Lightweight
No Forge, no extra dependencies beyond Fabric API.

🧠 How It Works

  1. Craft and place the first teleport door
→ The door is registered as waiting.
  2. Place a second door with the same wood type and color
→ Both doors are permanently linked.
  3. Walk through either door
→ You are teleported to its paired door.

If one door is broken, the link is released and the combination becomes available again.

🧪 Crafting Recipes

TeleportDoors are crafted using custom recipes.

Each recipe consists of:

  • the selected wood type
  • a color dye
  • an Ender Pearl in the center slot

The Ender Pearl represents the teleportation magic and is required for every TeleportDoor recipe.

🎨 Color Variants

Different dyes create different teleport pairs, even when using the same wood type.

⚠️ Important
Only two doors per wood-type + color combination can exist at the same time.
Additional crafting attempts for the same combination are intentionally blocked.

⚠️ Limitations

  • Teleportation only works if both doors exist
  • No cross-dimension teleportation yet (Overworld ↔ Nether)
  • Door duplication is intentionally prevented

🔮 Planned Features

  • 🌍 Cross-dimension teleportation
  • ✨ Visual teleport effects (fade, particles)
  • 🔑 Key or permission-based access
  • 📜 Tooltip information for linked doors
  • 🔧 Configurable behavior options

🧩 Dependencies

  • Fabric Loader
  • Fabric API
