Guide
Potash ore spawns at Y levels 26 through -26, and requires at least a stone pickaxe to mine. Each ore will drop 2-4 potash salt, which is the prime ingredient in making your very own potash torches.
Once you have potash salt, there are several ways to create potash torches.
In a crafting table, you can surround 1 potash salt with 8 torches to craft 8 potash torches.
If you don't want to craft so many extra, you can craft 1 potash salt with 1 torch to create a single potash torch.
Alternatively, you can create a potash torch by simply right clicking a torch with potash salt in your hand.
If you're feeling extra decorative, you can use your potash torches to create a potash lantern by surrounding 1 potash torch with 8 iron nuggets.
Additional mechanics
Potash salt can be used in a composter for a 65% chance to add a layer of compost.
