My Music Box is a Minecraft mod that allows you to add custom music into the game as music discs. This mod can automatically download music from YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Facebook, and 1000+ other platforms directly to your server using a single simple command!

🚀 Installation

Step 1: Install the mod

1. Download the mod .jar file
2. Place it into the mods/ folder of your server/client
3. Start Minecraft

Step 2: Install yt-dlp (required for download features)

Windows

winget install yt-dlp

Linux (Ubuntu/Debian)

sudo apt update
sudo apt install yt-dlp

Linux (CentOS/RHEL/Fedora)

sudo dnf install yt-dlp

macOS

brew install yt-dlp

⚙️ Configuration

Config file: config/mymusicbox-common.toml

Explanation:

1. creeperDropChance

   • Chance for Creepers to drop a custom music disc upon death
   • 0.05 = 5% = 1 out of 20 Creepers
   • Randomly selects 1 disc from all loaded discs

2. chestLootChance

   • Chance for music discs to appear in dungeon/mineshaft/etc chests
   • 0.1 = 10% = 1 out of 10 chests
   • Randomly selects 1 disc from all loaded discs

3. musicScanInterval

   • Time interval between scans of the mymusic folder
   • Scanning is only for detecting new files, it does NOT load them into the game
   • New files are only loaded after restarting the server
   • Set to 0 to completely disable (saves resources)
