📖About Hostage Run

HOSTAGE RUN

Hostage Run is a fun mod to play with friends. At least 2 players are required: one Hostage and one/more Captor.

🎮 The Goal

The Hostage: Must stay alive until the timer ends (Default: 2.5 hours)

The Captors: Must kill the Hostage by pushing them into the End Void before the timer ends

  • However, only the Captor who delivers the final hit wins (so there can only be 1 winner)
  • So Captors must fight each other to be the last one to hit the Hostage

💪 Hostage Perks

  • Hostage cannot take/deal damage to Captors (Only way to kill the Hostage is via the End Void. Also, since Hostage can't take knockback, the Captor can drag them along into the End Void.)
  • Hostage escapes if the Captor logs out, dies, or switches dimensions

🔗 Captor Items

Captors are given 2 items at the start of the run.

Hostage Leash item: Allows Captors to right-click and leash the Hostage

  • Can also tie the Hostage onto a fence
  • The Hostage cannot DIRECTLY break the fence.

Hostage Tracker Item: Allows Captors to right-click and track the Hostage's current location

  • It does NOT update automatically (Cooldown: 1 minute)
  • Glows the Hostage for 5 seconds

🎲 Custom Mechanics

Pickpocket: Allows Hostage to steal a random item from Captor's Inventory (50% chance) (Cooldown: 3 minutes)

  • If they sneak for 5 seconds within within 1.5 blocks of them
  • Fails if Captor looks at Hostage
  • A warning sound is produced 3 seconds in

Intimidating: The longer a Captor has leashed the Hostage, the more buffs he gets

  • Buffs stack/stay even if tied on fence
  • Buffs get cleared if unleashed/untied from that Captor
  • Effects:
    • 5 minutes in: Speed 1
    • 10 minutes in: Strength 1
    • 20 minutes in: Resistance 2
    • 30 minutes in: Hostage's Inventory gets cleared (only once)

🤖 Commands

To start a Run: /hostagerun start <Optional: Time_In_Minutes>

  • Default time is 150 minutes (2.5 hours)

To end a Run: /hostagerun end

To set the Hostage: /hostagerun hostage

To add a Captor: /hostagerun captors add

To remove a Captor: /hostagerun captors remove
