📖About Realistic BreakSpeed

Realistic BreakSpeed

A grounded, survival-focused overhaul of Minecraft’s block-breaking logic.
Vanilla block speeds are incredibly fast and forgiving. This mod changes that. Realistic BreakSpeed creates an immersive experience where tool choice matters, primitive methods feel primitive, and survival more believable.

Features

Global slower tool speeds for a more realistic progression and early-game struggle.

Harsh speed penalties for using the wrong tool, making block types and tool materials actually matter.

Bare-handed breaking rebalanced to feel primitive and punishing, especially on stone and wood.

Flint now acts as a crude Stone-Age tool, faster than bare-hands on wood, but dramatically slower than real tools.

Logs now strip first when broken without an axe, signaling the need for proper tools.

Picks and Shovels, excel on crafted wood items, seeing they're not as strong as trees.

Cobwebs stay vanilla, so the player isn’t unfairly punished in combat situations.

Gravel drops flint (which the mod considers a primitive axe) 50% of the time when mined barehanded, supporting survival starts.

Gameplay Impact

Realistic BreakSpeed doesn’t overwhelm the game with new items or systems—it simply enforces logic. Break what you should with what you should. Every tool choice has weight, every block friction, making early game survival a gritty and rewarding climb.

This mod is fully server-side, requiring no installation for clients, and should integrate well with modpacks focused on realism, immersion, or progression.
