📖About Auto Eat

Auto Eat

Auto Eat is a client-side Fabric mod that automatically consumes food from your inventory when your hunger level drops below a configurable threshold.

It supports detailed prioritization based on hidden saturation values, excludes food with debuffs, and offers extensive customization.

Features

  • Auto Eating
Automatically starts eating when your hunger level falls below the configured Start Hunger threshold and continues until reaching the Target Hunger value.

  • Inventory Scanning
Searches the entire inventory—not just the hotbar—for available food items.

  • Auto Swap
Temporarily moves the selected food to a designated hotbar slot for consumption, then restores the previous item.

  • Food Prioritization Logic
Choose how the mod selects which food to eat:

    • Saturation: Prioritize based on hidden saturation values (default).
    • Hunger: Prioritize based on hunger restoration points.
    • Total: Combined value of hunger and saturation.
  • Safety Filters

    • Avoid Hunger Effect: Optionally avoid items like Rotten Flesh.
    • Avoid Poison Effect: Optionally avoid items like Spider Eyes.
    • Control Chorus Fruit: Enable or disable eating Chorus Fruit (teleport effect).
  • Blacklist System
Exclude specific items (such as Golden Apples) from being auto-consumed.
    Supports modded food items automatically.

  • Context-Based Behavior

    • Configure whether the mod may eat while walking.
    • Configure auto-eating while GUI screens (like inventory or chests) are open.

Settings

This mod provides an in-game configuration menu when used with Cloth Config API and Mod Menu.

General

  • Target Hunger
Hunger level at which auto-eating stops. (Default: 20.0 — full bar)

  • Start Hunger
Hunger level that triggers auto-eating. (Default: 13.0)

  • Priority
The food selection strategy (Saturation / Hunger / Total).

  • Use Offhand
Whether food in the offhand may be consumed.

  • Search Inventory
Whether to search beyond the hotbar.

  • Eat While Walking
    Allow auto-eating during movement.

  • Eat While GUI Open
Allow auto-eating while inventory or other GUI screens are open.

Debuff Settings

  • Allow Hunger Effect — permits food that can cause Hunger (e.g., Rotten Flesh).
  • Allow Poison Effect — permits food that can cause Poison (e.g., Spider Eye).
  • Allow Chorus Fruit — permits consuming Chorus Fruit.

Advanced

  • Swap Slot
Specifies the hotbar slot (1–9) where food will temporarily be placed during consumption.

Food List

A list of all food items in the game is displayed.
Each item can be enabled or disabled for auto-eating.
A search bar helps locate specific items.
Modded food items are automatically supported.
