📖About ANTIVOID

ANTIVOID is an experimental gamemode similar in spirit to Skyblock or the "extraction game" genre, in which access to the Overworld is limited to randomized locations for short periods of time and the player is tasked with customizing a featureless white void.

NOTE: For obvious reasons, don't install this over an existing world you care about.

The Antivoid

The Antivoid in its initial state; a featureless white dimension with a gray structure placed at 0, 0.

When loading into a world players are placed into the Antivoid, a featureless white dimension created from easily-replacable Void Fabric blocks. In the Antivoid there is no day/night cycle, and no mobs spawn naturally. At the center of the world players will find the Well, a structure which grants limited access to the Overworld.

The Well: A deep hole at the center of the Antivoid with water at the bottom.

Jumping into the Well brings players to a random location in the Overworld and begins a one-hour timer (by default). Standing on the platform which generates in the Overworld for four seconds will return you to the Antivoid safely, but when the timer runs out all players who are not in the Antivoid are killed and the previous location becomes inaccessible except through pure random chance. Each one-hour dive into the Overworld is essentially a short exploration into a fully randomized temporary world, during which players must hurry to collect resources and bring them back into the Antivoid with them.

The Overworld and the return platform as seen at the very beginning of a new dive.

Collecting blocks and items from the Overworld and bringing them back to the Antivoid is the only way for players to create permanent bases. By default the Antivoid's world border is only 400x400, encouraging players to build close together and cultivate the Antivoid into a fully custom shared space.

The beginnings of a base in the Antivoid after a few travels to the Overworld.

Configuration

The datapack's configuration menu.

Operators can use the function antivoid:config/menu to configure a handful of game options.

  • How long the timer before players must return to the Antivoid is in seconds, recommended to be in a multiple of 20 minutes.
  • Whether to show the boss healthbar countdown timer to all players.
  • Whether to show an exact scoreboard countdown timer to all players.
  • Whether players remaining in other dimensions should be killed when the timer runs out, or only returned safely to the Antivoid.

Recommendations

Recommended mods to use alongside Antivoid for a better experience include:

  • World or structure generation mods, such as Roguelike Dungeons.
  • Carry On, allowing players to bring mobs and tile entities back to the Antivoid with them.
  • More Strongholds, allowing players to enter the End without relying on luck or cheating.
  • Foggy Border, because it makes the limited world border in the Antivoid look nice.
  • Your personal favorite mods :D
