📖About Original Ender Dragon

Do you miss the original Pre-1.9 Dragon Fight? Do you think the new ender dragon is too easy? So did I, so I made this datapack. This pack seeks to recreate the overall feeling of the original Ender Dragon. And, if the fight still seems lackluster, a bonus "Hard Mode" can be enabled that reworks current attacks and implements new ones.

Features

-End Island Generaton

The central end island has been reverted to it's pre-1.9 form. The pillars now spawn procedurally rather than being in a circle around the central fountain, which now no longer generates when you spawn in the end, but rather is generated beneath the dragon whenever it dies. This new generation does however mean that the dragon can no longer be respawned. To adress this, I've included an alternative pack that doesn't change the island generation.

-Dragon Changes

The Ender Dragon no longer perches nor shoots fireballs. Instead it randomly charges at you. Damage it to stop the charge
Upon death, the dragon no longer flies to the center and dies. Instead it dies on the spot and the exit portal will generate underneath the dragon after the death animation is complete. This feature is disabled in the alternative pack.
HARD MODE

If this fight still feels lackluster (and it probably does, I admit), I've also implented a "Hard Mode" that significantly overhauls the fight

Changes:

Every end crystals now generates with a cage around it. Unlike the current Iron Bar cages, these cages completely protect the end crystal from ranged weaponry. You'll have to pillar up to the top in order to break the crystal, but beware, the tower will collapse as soon as the crystal is destroyed...

The Dragon now has 3 distinct phases and has had it's HP increased from 200 to 400 hp. Phase 2 begins when the dragon is at half health, and phase 3 begins when the dragon is below 10hp. During phase 3, the Dragon is invulnerable for 2 minutes, as indicated by it's glowing outline. Once the timer runs out the dragon will become vulnerable on it's next charge. It also begins leaking fire sporadically.
The Dragon can now shoot fireballs again, however in phase 2 the fireball becomes incendiary and explodes upon impact, in phase 3 the explosion size is increased
The Dragon charges twice as fast with hard mode enabled, 3 times as fast during phase 2, and 4 times as fast on phase 3
The Dragon has a new attack: if a player is below it, the Dragon will breathe fire in a large area for 10 seconds. This ability has a 1-minute cooldown between uses, 30 seconds on phase 2, and 15 on phase 3. During phase 2 it breathes dragon fireballs instead of fire, which become incendiary on phase 3.
Upon death, the dragon releases one last barrage of dragon fireballs that hit in a 30-block radius from the dragon. These fireballs are highly destructive and leave behind breath clouds in their wake.
Any fire blocks on the island won't be extinguished naturally until the dragon dies.
You are free to use this in any of your modpacks and edit it to your hearts content.
