Farms are the backbone of any serious Minecraft world. Whether you need iron for builds, XP for enchanting, or food for exploration, automated farms save countless hours.

Iron Farms

Iron Golems spawn near villagers and can be farmed for Iron Ingots. This is the most important farm for builders.

Simple Iron Farm (Early Game)

Output: ~400 iron/hour

Requirements:

• 3+ Villagers with beds and workstations
• Zombie to scare villagers (triggers golem spawns)
• Lava kill chamber or Cactus
• Hoppers and Chests

Efficient Iron Farm (Mid Game)

Output: ~1,200 iron/hour

Multi-cell design with 4 villager pods surrounding a central kill chamber.

Gold Farms (Nether)

Zombified Piglins spawn abundantly in the Nether and drop Gold + massive XP.

Portal-Based Gold Farm

Output: ~2,000 gold/hour + 50 levels XP/hour

Uses Nether Portals in the Overworld to spawn Zombie Piglins safely.

Nether Roof Farm

Output: ~10,000 gold/hour

Built on the Nether roof (Y: 128+). Requires trap door to access roof.

XP Farms

Enderman Farm (End)

Output: 30-50 levels per hour

The fastest XP in the game. Endermen attack Endermites and fall to their death.

Build location: End outer islands, 43+ blocks from any platform.

Mob Spawner Farm

Output: 20-30 levels per hour

Convert Spawners found in dungeons into XP farms:

1. Find dungeon spawner (Zombie/Skeleton/Spider)
2. Create water channels to funnel mobs
3. Build 23-block drop tube
4. Kill mobs with 1-2 hits

Automated Crop Farms

Villager Wheat/Carrot/Potato Farm

Farmer villagers harvest and replant crops automatically. Hoppers collect excess.

Sugar Cane Farm

Sugar Cane for paper (rockets, books, maps):

• Plant sugar cane on sand/dirt next to water
• Use Observers to detect growth
• Pistons break the middle sections
• Water stream collection system

Pumpkin/Melon Farm

Similar observer/piston design. Great for Emerald trading with farmers.

General Mob Farms

Overworld Mob Farm

Drops: Bones, gunpowder, arrows, string, XP

Dark room spawning with water pushing mobs to kill chamber.

• Build 128+ blocks from any other spawnable ground
• Create layered spawning platforms
• Use water/signs to direct mobs down

Creeper-Only Farm

Creepers spawn where ceiling height is 2 blocks or less (spiders can't fit). Perfect for Gunpowder.

Guardian Farm (Ocean Monument)

Output: 10,000+ drops/hour

Guardians drop Prismarine, Crystals, fish, and XP.

Requirements:

1. Clear Ocean Monument interior
2. Remove water using sponges or sand
3. Add spawning platforms
4. Kill chamber with lava/magma

Villager Breeder

Villagers are essential for trading. A breeder ensures unlimited villagers:

• 2 villagers with beds
• Throw food (bread, carrots, potatoes)
• Extra beds = baby villagers
• Collect babies via minecart or water stream

Raid Farm

Output: Totems of Undying, emeralds, crossbows, XP

Trigger continuous raids near a village. Defeat Evokers for Totems.
